Dave and Kirsten. Congratulations! So no one got hurt and there was only a little holding siblings back at the beginning. The sportsmanship award goes to Kelty and Teagan by far. They were enjoying the easter egg hunt and excitted about every egg. My parents still think there are a few eggs in the yard hidden who knows they may be found in the summertime. Thanks mom and dad you are very generous!

Happy Birthday to us from Mom and Dad

In the month of April there are 4 out of the 6 smith siblings who have a birthday. Last night my mom treated the girls to a pedicure and dinner. Jaimie came up from Vegas for the Conference weekend and we celebrated our birthdays. Okay so I am not a fan of how I look in the picture but we had a realxing time. Thanks Mom and Dad! Sean so sorry you missed out. Happy Birthday Shannon, Jaimie, Sean and me. When I came home Kelty and Teagan admired my painted toes and loved the flower stickers. I painted their toes and put little stickers on their toes. They loved it.

Camp Dagleys

I bought a tent for my nursery class for the kids to play in and I set it up a few days ago in our basement and the girls have had so much fun pretending they are camping. They are ready for Bear Lake now.

april showers, may flowers and spring can't make up its mind

...so Brett brought home flowers on friday excitted for spring however the pessimist inside me said it is suppose to snow on saturday and besides aren't we suppose to plant flowers around may? I don't know these things I should but i grew up in alaska where we didn't mow our lawns or plant gardens or flowers. This is a whole new experience for me. Since it didn't snow saturday like all the weather people predicted for saturday we decided to plant our flowers. The girls had fun until Kelty told me that jack frost bit her and she wanted to go inside and Teagan's hands were so cold too. Probably holding the water pail didn't help.

the girls are showing off their cute swimming suits found in the easter baskets. They also got scooters. Kelty called her grandma and told her that she got a scooter and Grandma said I thought you were saving your money for a scooter and Kelty replied, "well the easter bunny brought it to me so i can save my money for something else." We had easter dinner at our house after church and played a game of croquet and guess who won? Grandma Smith did. I don't know how she does it everytime. The girls showed off their jeep skills since we couldn't be in Moab this past weekend for the Jeep Safari. Teagan was a natural. Usually she lets her sister drive and she just watches Kelty get mad when she drives on the grass. Thanks for a haapy easter.

"Look Kelty open the eggs there are jelly beans. I like it." Teagan. The breakfast of Champions on easter morning. The trick is to get them all wired up before church so that the primary teachers will go home and thank Heavenly Father for the blessing of teaching primary.

Today was a beautiful day for sledding. Kelty is enjoying it more. She use to scream all the way down but if you notice the slope wasn't too steep I even had to pull it to go down the hill.

Hurry up and get your mrs. cavanaugh's easter eggs they are going fast. Okay so it was crazy at the chocolate store today. All these people taking a mad rush to the door and the ladies behind the counter telling everyone that this is it. These eggs are going fast. So everyone was hurrying to grab their mindy mints or caramel chocolates. We are okay we got ours before they sold out at the Bntfl store. I think we are all set now and ready for the easter bunny to come. It just came to early this year. I like it in April. My parents are going to wait to celebrate easter on general conference weekend. That is when we have an adult easter egg hunt and try to find the golden egg. Sean will not get it this year that is for sure! I didn't say that as a challenge or to be competitive. We usually have easter dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Dagley but they are still in Scottsdale finishing up their art show. Darn! I like Easter at their place and the nice dinner Pat cooks. Maybe Brett will cook easter dinner this sunday? I hope everyone has a fun easter celebration and remembers the reason why we celebrate! P.S. Jen remember the easter bunny costume I wore on my mission for that family's easter party? How could you not!

since your little princesses may be sleeping when you get home here is what we did today. Yep we finally chopped Kelty's hair. It was getting so long. Lets be real I can not do girls hair and make those fun ponytails and braids and fancy other things. I can't even do my own hair cute. I think it looks really cute on her and she likes it.

i love to see the temple.. i'm going there some day..

Last night after we left grandma and grandpa's Kelty and Teagan both yelled, "hook mom, it's the temple". (those of you who know my girls can't say their l sounds). They wanted to drive up the hill to the temple to take a picture. Kelty and Teagan get really excitted when we drive by the temple or see a picture of the temple and they know that is where their parents were married and talk about getting married in the temple. It makes us happy to see the look on their faces when we walk on the temple grounds and it's a proud parent moment to know that maybe we are teaching them in some small way and that their little testimonies are just starting to take root about the importance of the temple and the plan of salvation. Kelty tells me that she is going to marry Caden when she gets bigger in the temple but not to be sad because she will come and see me and take care of me. That is comforting I tell her but let's not talk about marriage now and first learn how to ride her bike or graduate from pre-school and wait till she is 24 to have this talk. She laughs and tells me I am silly. No I am serious.

Last night we took a drive to Logan and stopped in to say Hi to Great Grandma and Grandpa Marshall and when we say Great they are Great to us! Teagan loves the chocolate that Grandma kept offering to her. Kelty loved playing with the legos and she built an interesting tower. Thanks for letting us visit and for sharing the pictures from your albums. We had a wonderful time.

This weekend was filled with boys, disney princesses and easter fun. I have to say that our Teagan can keep up with the boys and was a lot messier eating then everyone. I think boys are made of food, trucks and dealing with girls moods and that's what little boys are made of and girls are made of princess dresses, milk chocolate and fairytale wishes and that's what little girls are made of (at least in my house).

At disney on ice kelty picked out an Ariel barbie doll and a T-shirt but I didn't get suckered into buying those $20 dollar wands that glow in the dark and $12 shaved ice princess cups. She was really excitted about her gifts until we got home. I had a princess costume for Teagan to open since she didn't go to the show. Let's just say that Princess Snow White Kelty is a little jealous of Princess Teagan in the Ariel costume. I think Kelty has told me about 20 times that she doesn't have a princess Ariel costume. Teagan didn't feel left out yesterday because she spent the afternoon with Dad shopping and eating Mrs. Fields cookies at the Mall and who knows what else they did since Brett won't tell.

Aunt Ariel gave Kelty and Teagan an easter bunny key to leave outside our door to let the easter bunny in on Easter! We have it hanging on the door right now. Thanks Ariel!

This past week we watched my friends cute boys while she was in Hawaii. I only know how to raise girls so it was a whole new adventure with boys. My girls have so much fun with Isaac and Porter. We had an easter egg hunt and dyed easter eggs. We also decorated sugar cookies and played outside when the weather was okay.
