I was running with my friend this morning telling her how we didn't buy a digital camera until 2003 so i have all these hundreds of photos that are sitting in boxes. Then the thought occured to me I should scan them all so i can save them in my computer. What was I thinking. I have started this new project and it will probably drag on for a year since every picture has a memory and I sort of daze off thinking about it then I realize I need to scan the next one. Here are a few that brought back some great memories....

Going back to Litchfield to visit grandma Sabbe. She was so awesome. She fed the sister missionaries and let us spend P-day with her. We washed our clothes at her house, ate lunch with her and wrote our letters from her kitchen table. She introduced me to raspberry rumble ice cream. Her nickname for me was "Little bit". She thought I was tiny for a sister missionary. When I look back at my mission pictures I don't see what she saw. I bet i gained 20 pounds on my mission. She moved and I haven't been able to find her.
Phoenix zoo with my family. Had to take the touristy picture. Now my girls think it is the coolest. This was a fun trip to Mesa/Phoenix, AZ. We went and saw the Easter pageant and swam alot. Fun family memories.
My sister Brighton's first year away from home. We drove her to Ricks college. Lets just say she fit in just fine with her hic belt buckle. She even married a hic.
My mom posted a sign out in front of her yard before I left for my second marathon in St.George. My family are such a great support and Brett makes an awesome water boy when I am in training. Thanks for all those times you drove early in the morning waiting for me at every other mile to hand me water. He still does it when I go on long runs. You Rock Brett!

fantastic friday, super saturday, spiritual sunday

It was a fun friday - the jazz game and the best part was they won. I also got into St. George marathon. Love that marathon. Looking forward to training all summer. Saturday was super just because we did so much in one day. Yard work, stained the back porch, cleaned out both cars and washed them, primary lesson and Brett made a run to Home Depot for supplies and then picked up the hanging flower baskets as seen in the picture. It's a mothers day tradition. And I even got in a pedicure and lunch with my mom. Spiritual sunday - I went to my mom's relief society and she gave a wonderful lesson. It was so good. I had a headache the rest of the day because of all the crying from the lesson. I hate when that happens. I substituted in Kelty's primary class and the children were heaven sent. They said the cutest things and when asked, What is Faith?, little emma said you just believe. I was so impressed with their stories and their willingness to give prayers. Brett and the girls were so cute for mother's day. Waffles and strawberry delight for breakfast along with the homemade cards. I had emailed Brett a link a while back to hint what I would like for mother's day (not that I should do that) but i thought I was being helpful reminding him what was coming up and what I would really like.He told me that he had ordered the necklace and it will get here in a week or so. I am so excitted. I am not a fan of jewlery but i found this website which has handmade jewlery by lisa leonard and she is amazing the different styles she makes. You will just have to wait to see the necklace.

Mothers who know...

and our mothers know just who they are and have enjoyed motherhood and now enjoy being grandparents. Happy mothers day to our wonderful moms! Brett and I both feel so blessed to have the mothers we do. They are both such great women who are both educated, great role models, love the gospel, very supportive, loving, full of wisdom and knowledge and best of all love being a mother. I am grateful for Pat because of the fine man Brett is today and I know that the way he treats and respects me is because of the example of his mother. Thank you! I am thankful for my own mother and for her example and the love and guidance she gave me while growing up. Happy mothers Day! We love you Pat and Lyn!

LA Sucks!

This is the chanting we heard after the game all the way down the stairs and outside the building. It was a great game. What a fun night we had. We ate dinner with Sean and Ariel at the Gateway and then went over to the game. There was so much energy at the game. I haven't been to a game since I was pregnant with Teagan and we had to leave because of the smell of beer. Everyone got a shirt to wear for game 3 against LA Lakers. So what's up with the refs not calling fouls on the Lakers? I think my ears have recovered from the loud noise plus all the screaming for David Archuletta. Go JAZZ!

for all you loyal Jazz fans out there i better hear you yelling from your houses, your cars and from your bleachers at the Energy Solutions Arena cheering for our boys in blue. my brother sean asked if we wanted to go to the playoff game tonight. we were on the internet monday at 10 am purchasing our tickets. it took awhile to get in with two of us at 3 separate computers when we finally got in we took what tickets were available. we don't care that the seats are upperbowl we are just excitted to go and heard that american idol finalist david archuletta will be singing the national anthem. that's cool. if you are watching from home on your wide flat screen tvs then look for me.

first park incident of the spring year and so not looking forward to more

yesterday i took my girls to ponds park. it's their favorite park because of the long slide you go down after you hike a mile up the hill. the last couple of times we have gone which has been a while ago the slide has been so slow to go down so i haven't worried when Teagan slides down well after playing on all the other park equipment Teagan and Kelty decide to run up the hill and slide down. Kelty is more cautious so she uses her feet to slow her down but Teagan just took off and there was no slowing down. she flew in the air and landed on both knees and stuck her hands out and skidded. I knew we were in trouble but she jumped up and started to run back up the hill with me chasing her and she was crying becuase she knew the land hurted but she wanted to go down the slide again. she looked down at her knees and when she saw blood it was all over. I was about to faint. I don't do well with deep cuts but her right hand did not look good. I yelled for Kelty and we ran to the car (good thing we drove) i found a water bottle and started cleaning the wound but I could tell dirt and gone up into the cut and the more i looked I was getting sick. We drove home and kelty was the perfect helper. She ran for the first aid kit and bandaids and we doctored up Teagan after much screaming and kicking since I was trying to clean the wounds on her knees and hands. I wasn't sure if we needed to go in to the instacare but it wasn't bleeding profusely. i was just worried about infection with the dirt. We gave Teagan an hour bath last night so that she would get her hand in the water hoping it would soften up the skin and clean the dirt. It looks much better today and she is using it more. Teagan is so tough unlike her mother. I am such a wuss when it comes to cuts or broken bones. I definately couldn't do the medical field it is just not my thing.

kids say the darndest things....

yesterday kelty was looking at her legs and pulling some dead skin off and I said, "what are you doing miss kelty" and she said, "look mom i have summer on me like you". i have been peeling from my sunburn the last couple of days and she has helped me peel off some of the dry skin. i thought it was so funny what she said.

mexican riveria

our last stop was cabo wabo actually cabo san lucas i just like saying cabo wabo. i loved this place and would love to go back to hang out on lover's beach for a few days. we only had around 6 hours in this city before the boat sailed back to LA. it is so beautiful. you will just have to experience yourself.

our second port was mazatlan. it didn't have the resort feel as the other ports. this was more of a working man's city. we did the best of mazatlan tour and saw a natural lighthouse, watched a diver jump off a rock, watched flyer dancers and brett liked the cowboy action picture he snapped and then we went down to their shops in old town to get you to buy their jewlery which is just not my thing and then they dropped us off at a hotel for a mexican lunch buffet and then we drove back in a cool mini somthing

our first stop was puerto vallarta. this was brett's favorite place since we took a speed boat to a small fishing village and rode in a mercedes SUV up some road only to have people shooting at us it sounded like (the muffler kept making exploding noises) they dropped us off to ride mules up a mountiain and then we took about 8 zip lines and repelled on two rocks to get down. we had alot of fun in our group. we later walked around downtown and along the pier. the weather was around 86 degrees. nice and warm.

this was the first time taking a princess cruise. we were on the golden ship. they had a tennis court, mini golf, a small track which i ran 80 times around to do 8 miles. there were lots of swimming pools and plenty of places to eat. we mainly stayed near this pool since it was closer to our cabin.

happy birthday to me...

so i had an awesome birthday. i was spoiled. about a month ago for our relief society birthday celebration i was asked the question what would be your idea of a perfect birthday and i said just to be able to relax for the whole day with out cleaning or cooking and to take a long nap. this is exactly what i did plus i ran 6 miles, layed out in the sun and had my favorite dessert, chocolate dipped strawberries. who could ask for more? thanks brett i love you! and thank you to all my family and friends who sent me emails, birthday cards, gifts and to those who forgot i am a very forgiving person and i still accept birthday wishes anytime throughout the year. i love celebrating birthdays. kidding!!!

all aboard to mexico....

welcome back to reality now. it isn't that hard to get back in to the schedule of life. we had an amazing time. it was relaxing, fun and sunny and warm. no cooking, dishes or cleaning involved and that was the best part. lots of naps and of course eating. we did miss our girls and it is so good to be home with them now. they were in great hands while we were on our vacation. here are a few pics from the mexican riveria.

Brighton is 24 everyone!

I was able to spend time with my cute baby sister in Vegas while assisting at a seminar. We did a little shopping and eating. It's jaimie's birthday on monday so i am making this post early since i will be on a scruize as kelty calls it. I hope you have a fun birthday and that josh spoils you. you deserve it. you are a wonderful friend and sister. look how beautiful you have turned out. happy birthday!

What Happens when Mom leaves town?

Just thought we would disclose the chaos that happens when Mom is out of town. Tent-jumping on the trampoline - sounds fun. Hope Mom is enjoying Vegas and seeing Jay and Josh. Dad and the girls are watching the movie "Waterhorse" til the wee hours of the morning!! Love you mom. Teagan cried when we left the airport without mommy. See you tomorrow.

Kelty, Teagan, and Brett went to Grandma "Swings" for a post-tax season visit. Kelty built an awesome domino castle. Teagan was sleeping. Brett is glad to have a relaxing day after the April 15th deadline.

It's official first round of tax season is over

just like this new york hot dog made brett's day on vacation seeing brett more will make my day. Miss him when he is only around for 6 hours and he is sleeping 5 of those hours. It will be nice to see you more and not have you work 85 hour weeks. Way to go!

sean-paul CUTE!

so today is my younger brother's birthday. he turns 28 and reminded me that he is not 30 as I have taught my girls to round numbers and say he is 30. sean use to let his sisters dress him up in their dresses and curl his hair but he will not admit that we did such things to him. he is a huge jazz/basketball fan and yep that is pretty much it. he is also a fun uncle and will play dinosaurs and pillow fights with his neices. happy birthday sean! oh yes I love you too!

sisters are tied together with heartstrings

Today is my sister's birthday. My big sister is amazing. She is an example to me of love and charity and of service. She is a wonderful friend, sister and awesome aunt to her neices. Kelty and Teagan abolutley love their Aunt Shanny. She takes them for walks, reads books to them and has the patience to do fun kid projects with them and even cleans up after their mess. I couldn't ask for a sweeter sister then Shannon. I hope you have a wonderful day and know that I love you. Thank you for who you are and all that you do.
