Today we took our girls to the Twin Falls Idaho temple open house and had Grandma and Grandpa Dagley join us. What a beautiful temple. We have been preparing our girls about going to see the temple and telling them they would get to go inside. As a parent and seeing a small glimpse in to the future words can not describe how wonderful it was to go in the Celestial room as a family and to tell our girls we love them. They were so quite and looked around with bright eyes. We hope they will remember the feelings they felt here in the temple today and will want to go to the Temple someday. We love you Kelty and Teagan.

Love sunday drives. Last Sunday we drove out to Antelope Island. Okay our brother in law teases us all the time that we are world travelers and we haven't even been to Antelope Island. We can cross this off the list now. After church the girls were a little restless so we said that's it everyone in the car and we were off. They loved looking at the "deer" we couldn't get them to say Antelope. They were set on deer since that is usually what they see when we drive to the cabin. We saw a few buffalos out there too. When we have more time we will have to drive back out there and spend a few more hours. It was actually very beautiful.

If anyone wants a fun recreational activity to do then I suggest canoeing at Causey Dam. It was so much fun. Brett has been wanting to go canoeing for a long time now. He planned this fun activity seriously three weeks ago by reserving a canoe from WSU Wilderness Recreational Center. He packed a dinner and we were off canoeing by 5:30pm. It was a very peaceful and beautiful night. I thought my arms would be sore today but not at all. Thanks Brett for a fun date. I would go again with you of course.

I love the month of August!

I don't know why I just do. Could it be that there is still one more month of summer left or because I got married in August? or because all the fun family vacations are in this month (Bear Lake, Cabin/Park City)? When I was a kid we would do our school shopping in this month and it is a fun memory for me. My mom would take each child one on one for an afternoon and we would buy our clothes and school supplies and go to lunch together. I am looking forward to taking the girls school shopping even though it is only for pre school but there is nothing wrong with starting the tradition now. I don't know why I love August so much but honestly I was just so excitted yesterday and could hardly contain myself when I went to sleep last night that it was the eve of August. Hooray for August!! Call me crazy. There is one thing pointed out by my brother that there are no holidays in August but I think the whole month is a holiday at least at our house since I think Brett is only working 7 days with all his time off.

I totally snagged these pictures of the girls off my brother and sister-in-law's blog. Brett is taking me canoeing tomorrow night and after seeing these pictures of the canoe capsized at a lake near our cabin maybe I have second thoughts. Just kidding. How in the world? Brett don't get any ideas.

Kelty was the flag girl on the boat until her dad fell and then she started crying for us to go get her daddy out of the water and Teagan just laughed that her dad fell in the water.

Teagan couldn't wait to get on the boat and go to the beach (sand). Everytime she sees a plane she tells me the plane is going to the beach and so is Teagan Mae. She should have been born in California or Arizona where there is beach front property. It's a family joke.

Our fun friends the Larsons invited us to join their family the Rawlings and Hales at Pineview for FHE last night. We had a blast. Wish we had more daylight time to play some more in the water. The girls loved the boat ride, tubing and were brave enough to join the boys, namely Ike and Wyatt jumping off the make shift trampoline into the water which I heard has Giardia. I told my girls not to drink the water but after looking at some of the pictures how could they not have kept water from coming into their mouths. After we left Pineview we had convinced our selves we wanted to buy a boat and then we filled up our SUV and both cried. One day when we are rich and famous or just rich then maybe we can be owners of a boat or two. But for now thank goodness for fun friends who are so nice to invite us along.

I did it! Finally!!

Here it is for all those who have been dying to see the dinosaur cake I baked the cake from scratch and decorated with the help of my manly assistant Brett! Thank you Heather for the cake idea. So I have told most of you that I have always bought a store cake for any of our birthdays. I just didn't want the stress of a cake not turning out right before the birthday party so I have left the stress for the bakery but this year from the confidence of a friend I finally baked my daughter's cake and decorated it. Not bad for the first time I thought until Kelty told me that she wants me to buy her a castle cake from the store for her birthday so somebody did not like my cake ability and was brave enough to admit it. Still love you Kelty!

My baby is Three!

Today Teagan is three. Doesn't seem possible. Our family just wouldn't be complete with out her. She has so much life and spunk in her. I just want 1/10 of her energy. She has a very cute laugh and her smile could melt any person's pain or sorrow away. She is genuinly concerned for everyone. If she sees you have an owie she wants to kiss it to make it better. When she hears a baby cry she looks to find where the baby is and tells me that baby is sad and will the baby be okay. We have been so lucky that she is healthy and happy. We love you Teagan. She wants a dinosaur birthday so we will celebrate by going to the Dinosaur park and having a dinosaur cake. Only our Teagan would request such a thing and I am so glad she has the personality she does. Happy Birthday Teagan Mae!

Las Vegas

I honestly hate being in pictures so there are very few out there of me and the ones that are well look horrible. Jaimie sent me a few pictures she had on her camera with me and the girls from our weekend trip. Kelty asked me if all the princesses stay at the castle hotel when they come to Las Vegas? Ummm not quite. Love Teagan's face in the last picture. That's how I feel about getting pictures taken.

after a busy day of swimming, shopping, eating and more swimming we crashed at the hotel.

Girls first time bowling. Kelty even got a strike. Teagan did two rounds and then wanted to go home. She did not like her shoes and kept asking to take them off. I on the other hand thought they were adorable but thought of how many other feet have been in those shoes so they were off very quick.

I love road trips. If anyone asks me to go on a road trip with them I am all over it. I tease Brett because a few months after we were married I was getting ancy to go somewhere so I said to Brett lets go on a road trip and he said ok. I was so excitted to go somewhere anywhere and I asked him where we were going to venture off too thinking maybe Jackson Hole or St. George but he said Logan! Logan? That is not a road trip. Anyways on Thursday the girls, Shannon and I journeyed off to Vegas. We went to visit my sister for a few days. Let me tell you road trips aren't like they use to be with kids. I actually came home a day early from Vegas with the heat, sleeping in a hotel room and driving in a car for 7 hours one way and back is hard on a mom. So I want to know how the pioneers (our parents) traveled with kids on long road trips without portable DVD's, air conditioned cars, fast food at every gas station and still it is a hard thing for all of us. The girls did enjoy swimming at the hotel pool and seeing their Aunt Jaimie, going to the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay hotel. We took the girls bowling for their first time and for Teagan's early birthday present she went to build a bear and picked out a dinosaur to make. We had a lot of fun. I just have one thing to say now - Home Sweet Home. It is great to be back home with Brett. I did miss him the three days we were gone and the house was clean what a nice surprise. I love sleeping in our bed and having space for the girls to run around so I don't have to get upset with them to be quiet in the hotel room.
